DMHC Website

Gone are the days when a website was just an electronic version of a brochure. Today's web users demand value-packed content, a web-appropriate design, and clear, efficient navigability. And this is what Health Research for Action proposed when the California Department of Managed Health Care (DMHC) asked us to redesign, rewrite, and reorganize its consumer website.

We worked closely with the department to define user profiles, test the site with a range of potential users, and develop comprehensive, accurate, and reader-friendly content.

Today, the DMHC website is California's go-to site for information on what members can do if they have a problem with their HMO. The site, with key sections in Chinese and Spanish, gives members the information and forms they need to file a complaint or request an Independent Medical Review from the state.
