China Worker Wellness Project partners visit from Changzhou, China

On January 22, colleagues from the Changzhou Department of Health and Family Planning visited HRA to discuss the China Worker Wellness Project. For the past 3 years, HRA has partnered with the City of Changzhou to develop and evaluate a participatory approach to support migrant factory workers. The project has implemented many worker-initiated interventions, including a worker wellness guide, "wellness houses" in factories, and worker-to-worker service activities. The pilot project has been extended to 10 factories and is being explored as a national model. At the visit, Changzhou colleagues emphasized the value of the participatory approach and described the latest project developments. Participants from Pathfinder International (another key project partner) and the SPH Labor and Occupational Health Program also attended.
